Movement Intelligence (MI) weaves together discourse & physical exploration of movement in search of a greater understanding of the human experience. MI challenges stylistic and traditional notions of 'technique' and dwells on the tension between universal principles and individualisation. The practice explores the relationship between the first-person experience of movement and its empirical manifestation, while tracing the cultural norms that govern our understanding of the body-mind and its potential.   The MI apparatus offers applicable information from a variety of movement disciplines and cultivates a tolerant space to explore ideas both physically and cognitively. Offering linear and non-linear learning experiences, the practice gravitates towards integration as a quality of being. Using communication and adaptation as meta-practices, we seek to merge body and mind, imagination and reality, intuition and analysis, the individual and the collective.
