Joy of contact - contact improvisation course for beginners

We are opening a contact improvisation course for beginners!

We often meet people who want to start moving and don't know how, they are worried and   it discourages them. We offer you the opportunity to join the joint movement whether or not you have experience with any dance. The beauty of contact improvisation is that you don't need to memorize any choreography. There isn't one :) It's a dance, movement and sometimes spiritual practice where you surrender not only to gravity but also to the present moment.

On the course, you will be able to learn how to use your body correctly (contact improvisation technique, biomechanics and other principles of movement) so that you can rely on it during dance and at the same time use it correctly. 

In addition to technique, we will also work with improvisation where you will have the opportunity to develop your creativity, support playfulness and find new and new solutions to movement situations. You will gradually gain more self-confidence and more confidence in sharing the weight with your partner.

Contact improvisation is about sharing weight with a partner, about the point of contact - listening and following him, about working with gravity and "flying", about falling upwards and downwards. 

If you want to discover your movement and be part of the community at the same time, this course is just for you :) 

You can then apply what you learn in the lesson to regular Jam sessions. What can you imagine under that? It is actually a dance studio of contact improvisation. A space where you can dance for several hours and practice what you learned in class. It is a training ground where everyone freely and simultaneously enters and exits physical contact and hones their skills.

What will you need? comfortable clothes that won't put pressure on you, possibly socks (we will dance barefoot), t-shirts with short or longer sleeves (the skin rubs too much on the floor with tank tops, which may not be pleasant).

How will it go? We will start and end each meeting with sharing in a circle, at the beginning of the warm up and the gradual development of the technical and practical part.

You will be accompanied by the lessons: Magdaléna Takačová Co-founder of Movement LAB and OZ 4Arts Therapy, dance-movement therapist, coach, lecturer of contact improvisation, facilitator of authentic movement and embodiment meditations

After studying Strategic Management and Marketing, I worked for 12 years in the financial field in a management position. My many years of experience in leading movement, dance and dance-music sessions led me to study dance-movement therapy, which I completed my 4-year training in the Czech Republic in 2017. For 10 years, I danced in the integrated dance group LEN TAK TAK, where people danced with and without a handicap. I was part of the creative and production process of performance projects. In 2019, I completed coaching training (according to ICF standards). In 2020, I completed the certified Teacher's Training at the Holistic Dance Institute in Vienna. I attended a number of foreign educational workshops focused on contemporary dance, applied anatomy in movement, bodywork, contact improvisation and somatic movement. In 2021, I entered TRE (trauma release exercises) and contact improvisation training in Poland.
