About the Event

We have prepared a workshop focused on touch for those who work with it on a regular basis.

The workshop is open to therapists from all types of manual therapies, as we will explore the principles of touch rather than specific methods or techniques.

The term "map is not territory" was first used by Alfred Korzybski (Polish-American scientist and philosopher). He meant that the abstraction of something or a reaction to something is not the thing itself. We humans often confuse the model of reality with reality itself or we don't notice the difference between them. We will also deal with this idea in the workshop.

The workshop will take place in the form of theoretical and discussion windows, movement exercises and manual exercises on massage tables.

An important step will be to integrate the acquired knowledge into the method and style you use. The integration phase will only be outlined during the workshop and for optimal integration you should practice what you have learned in your own practice.

The GOAL of this workshop is:

explore touch, discover easier and more effective ways and approaches to perform your manual therapy,

connect more deeply and clearly with the client (the map is NOT the territory)

WORKSHOP CONTENTS

How to use your body when working with a client (body use)

  • If we use our body while working in harmony with gravity, it will allow us to perform our profession for a long time and efficiently. - It will also make available to us the dimension of listening or perception of the client at different levels.

Touch and its parameters + other senses.

  • Even touch has its parameters. Awareness of these parameters allows us to adapt the technique in a given situation.

Využitie viacerých zmyslov paralelne nám umožňuje presnejšie navnímanie sa na klienta a jeho vstupné informácie pre     našu manuálnu therapy.

Quality contact with the client is important for quality technology. We will deal with how to obtain verbal and especially non-verbal information from the client.

Co-founder of Movement LAB, Certified Rolfer™, movement researcher and movement instructor.

I was very active in rowing and ultimate frisbee. I studied physical education and German language teaching at UNIPO. Chronic pain and interest in a holistic approach to people led me to study the Rolfing® method at the European Rolfing® Association (ERA) in Munich, whose 2-year training I completed in 2020. I continue to educate myself in the Rolfing® method. I attended numerous workshops and courses focused on movement, training of the human body and biomechanics.
